Composed with metal tubes threaded on cords, Utsire creates a textured and graphical surface that combines the soft texture of the textile with the brightness of the metal.
Ostinato is a panoramic mirror developed from Studio MTX Utsire’s signature surface: a curtain of cords embroidered with metal tubes, creating a gradient effect that reveals the mirror surface between two decorative sequences.
The structure of the piece combines traditional cabinetmaking techniques, such as wood bending and joinery, with precision digital milling, allowing for the millimetre-perfect insertion of the cords into the two solid oak profiles.
